ISSJ provides a week-long spring program which corresponds with the curriculum of our full-time international science high school to be launched in 2020. This spring program will help to create a foundation for students to shape the future by identifying their own science research theme and learning how to make progress with scientific approaches and effective presentation skills to deliver their results on a global level.

2018 Spring Program Application Guideline

Venue OIST (Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University)
Accommodation OIST Seaside House (
Requirements -Currently to be 9th-11th grade and of the age 15 - 17 as of  April 1st, 2018.
-Proficiency in English to understand lectures, workshops and to discuss among other students
-Arrive at the venue by themselves at their own expense
-In good physical and mental condition
-Selected by a screening process
-Enthusiastic, takes initiative and to be able to work both independently and cordially with other students
Certification ISSJ will issue a certification to prove the completion of students participating in the 2018 Spring Program
Number of participants 15
Participation Fee 200,000 JPY
( Tuition / Meals / Accommodations / Insurance and local transportation during the program except the free day(day5) )
Scholarship will cover the participation fee (worth 200,000 JPY), excluding travel costs such as air ticket and other transportation to/from the venue. An additional online interview will be required
