We are looking for Research Mentors and Curriculum Developers as we launch a new international science high school, Manai Institute of Science and Technology.
Our new school is very different from the traditional high school system, where teachers merely teach subjects to students. Our program strongly focuses on students’ research. We believe that students most effectively learn and thrive by working on their own research, based on their interests, curiosity and passion. In order to make this research-driven program possible, mentors’ support and guidance are essential.
Also, we are preparing innovating materials and programs that complement our research-driven program. We are looking for people who are willing to design/create/build materials, experiments and workshops that are necessary for the students to deepen their studies. Specifically, we are looking for people from the field of physics and engineering, as well as technical knowledge such as 3D modeling and machining.
Mentors are staff who mentor Manai students and their research projects, studies and life in general and also contribute to the program development.
We are looking for mentors who:
– have science and research background, preferably in graduate school in a science or engineering field. – is passionately pursuing something in science, technology and education.
– enjoys interacting with students.
– is flexible and robust in uncertainties and unpredictable situations. – is not passive, but proactive.The job includes, but is not limited to:
– mentor students
– design/create/build experiments and curriculum
– create/deliver workshops
– help run our seasonal programs
– guide students’ research and studies
– design and organize extra-curricular events.

We need to make the appeal of this new concept of school to be widely known to people interested in science around the world. For that reason, it is necessary to build a strong brand, management web site, social media presence and event planning – stronger and more effective than ever before. Since we are a very small organization, we need candidate with strong ability to design and take the initiative in all plans. Also, it is not just outsourcing, but you need to be active in understanding what you need in relation to students and mentors.
This position requires empathy with supporters, mentors and students and pursue further engagement as a high performance. Ultimately, the candidate will help us build and maintain a strong and consistent brand through a wide range of online and offline marketing channels. - Responsibilities include

- Overall responsibility for brand management and corporate identity
- Develop strategies and tactics to get the word out about our Institute and drive qualified traffic to our front door

We will have to recruit Administration Assistants who will take on the infrastructure of our laboratory. Administration Assistants are responsible for running and coordinating the day-to-day administrative duties of an organization. Traditionally, an Administration Assistant job description highlights the importance of organization skills, communication skills and the capacity to manage several tasks or requests simultaneously. Soft skills such as being professional and exceptional with time management are also valuable to include.
- Administration Assistant responsibilities include

- Greeting and directing visitors and new students to the organization
- Writing and issuing emails to teams and departments on behalf of teams or other staff Ordering and taking stock of office supplies
- Scheduling and preparing documents for meetings and appointments

is the shared understanding who will act as a “Senpai” and support the students.
Each student who pass the assessment period and enroll to Manai will be assigned their own “Senpai.”
“Senpai,” as experienced member of the society, will help lead the students in their activities.
Specific roles of “Senpai” are:
- Building relationship with the student
- Financial support for the student’s learning
- Providing access to their network
“Senpai” will be able to give back to the society through the talented Manai student - expanding their communities and field through the student.
